White Privilege When Convicted

The son and father convicted of murdering Ahmaud Arbery have reached a plea agreement that could avoid their trial on federal hate crime charges. Arbery’s parents denounced the deal and called on the judge to reject it. The Arbery family had to fight Department of Justice prosecutors to take the case to trial. The family won the argument and the three haters were convicted in Federal Court. This deal would allow all three defendants to spend time in a federal prison, which is considered an upgrade from state prison.
