VARY: Move and Progress

<p><strong>VARYING</strong> is the principle of motion and progression! No initial or continual motion occurs without <strong>VARYING</strong> weight, balance, technique, muscles groups, and strategies. To progress we need to <strong>VARY</strong>. The goal may remain the same however the path is a path of progression and that requires us to VARY.</p> <p>In self-defense when we are <em>stuck</em>, meaning someone has us in a hold, delivering a barrage of strikes, or attempts to throw us we must <strong>VARY</strong> our position, weight, balance, or technique to survive. If they move to throw us one way, we move the other, if they go high we go low, if they speed up we slow down. Everything in life that has motion must <strong>VARY</strong> to continually move, or progress.</p> <p>The name CrossFit has created a whole industry around <strong>VARYING </strong>&nbsp;muscle groups, speed, and stress of its workouts to produce arguably to fittest people on the planet.</p> <p>In Life Defense even things that work over long periods of time <strong>VARY</strong> eventually to keep up with technology, market trends and competition. When business does not <strong>VARY</strong>, it dies. Computing, once thought to be only useful for science and defense has now <strong>VARIED</strong> in its use to be worn on the wrist, play music, and make social connections.</p> <p>The distinction of <strong>VARY</strong> is essential to survival and progress. In my life, I had an aortic dissection. Now I VARY my life style accordingly.
