Two Points From Oslo
Elisa
تفصیل

Join hosts Stuart and William, in their usual far reaching discussion style podcast, as they examine a question from listener Eric in Oslo, Norway.

"Looking at it from a social justice, climatic, ethical, and moral stance. Where are the lines between self education, about where humanity is possibly heading, resisting, rebelling, and disrupting the system to bring about change, and personal adaptation to what is, potentially, heading our way?

My (Eric’s) second point is, is adapting to the changes ahead, and being open to them, sending a message that it’s too late to actually change anything around social justice, ethics, climate etc? Which in itself is giving up and helps maintain the status quo, and the current systems that are slowly destroying us?

Are the entwined climate and social justice protests really about winning, or showing resistance and not giving up, and going away quietly?

Is the G7 summit back in June, in Carbis Bay in Cornwall, an example of our leaders giving up, or not willing to change? Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister, flew to Cornwall waving and celebrating as he arrived, walking down the steps of a jumbo jet. Couldn’t he have travelled in a greener way, and lead by example?

The Carbis Bay Hotel where the summit was held, had to expand to accommodate the delegates. Woodlands were cleared, and building happened without any planning consent. This seems like backhanders going on here."

ANNOUNCEMENT!
