President Biden says the evacuation of Americans and Afghan allies from Kabul is accelerating, but he's conceding that the evacuation of thousands from Kabul will be "hard and painful." At the airport there, the situation has grown more chaotic, with thousands waiting to get through Taliban checkpoints, and a firefight overnight leaving at least one person dead. And, U.S. hospitals are being overwhelmed by new COVID cases, as the number of deaths surges.
