In just three short days, 90% of people who created a New Year’s Resolution will have abandoned their resolution. January 12th signifies this goal abandonment day every year. Previously, we talked about goal setting in episodes 4 and 5.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The word goal doesn’t stick on the wall. People tell themselves that it’s OK not to achieve their goal - that their goal is optional. I like to talk about planning.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Planning is more concrete, more visual, more explicit, and directional. Your step-by-step guide to what you want to achieve. How are you going to make your goal? That is what your plan is used for - to accomplish your goal. When your plan isn’t working, you can adjust the plan, not giving up on your goal. Your goals are more comfortable to replicate when you have a plan in which you get there.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Think about what you want to accomplish and create a simple plan, don’t overthink your plan. The hardest part is keeping the promise to yourself to achieve your plan. The one person we are most likely going to break promises to is ourselves!
