<p>Rikers Island is a tough prison no one will question that, but what happened there on the evening of February 1, 1957, changed many lives some had left there to rot. This week we share the story of the heroics of an unlikely crew and the lives that changed because of them. </p> <p>For dinner, we had Cindy’s own chicken parmesan on a bed of pasta, and for dessert, we had caramel apple cheesecake cupcakes.
