Intellectually lazy or disingenuous?

In a scholarly discussion about Gnosticism... They allow a question that shows the query itself as dishonest and their own inability to be intellectually honest, or to apply the lessons they claim to understand. Is this cowardice or ignorance? **Tran*gender debate in biblical scholarship? Fruitless discussion because we are unwilling to discuss or we have convictions: worse than lies?
