Then, in the New Testament, we see how God the Son came to live among us. Jesus is Immanuel—which means “God with us” (Matthew 1:23). Because God loves us, He died and rose again to forgive our sins and provide the way for us to be with Him forever. Even though Jesus ascended to heaven, He is still with His followers through His Holy Spirit, His Word (the Bible), and His people (the church).
