El Paso's Iconic Band - Westwind

<p>The Westwind Band from El Paso, Texas, was originally formed in 1969. In 1972 the group became the house band at the Knights Club at the Rodeway Inn at Bassett Center. Rick Kern's band, The Basic Sound, was the previous band that had that distinction from 1969 to 1972 when Westwind started their successful run at playing at El Paso's hottest nights spot where they played to packed audiences every night. The group had several personnel changes with many great local El Paso musicians through the years. The group eventually went on the road and even toured Greenland. In this episode of TalkandRockRadio, host Rick Kern interviews three of the members of the band with some fun stories about the Rock n Roll days ('69 to early '70's) in El Paso, Texas.</p>
