Ambassadors

We are here to represent!<br /><br />We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 5:20)<br /><br />Many times in life we’re asked to represent something. To attend a function on behalf of the company we work for, to represent our family at a funeral or wedding, and for a select few, to represent our country in the Olympic games or even an international summit.<br /><br />In short – when we stand in as a representative of anything – we’re ambassadors.<br />In his letter to the church in Corinth, Paul is describing his reason for writing, reason for coming to the people of Corinth – and consequently describes OUR actions – in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. And he uses the word, Ambassadors. Someone who acts on behalf of, and with the authority of, those who sent them.<br /><br />•The truth of the Gospel is ours, but not ONLY ours<br />•We come on behalf of the King to offer citizenship in the Kingdom<br />•Are we working our way through life hoping to blend in?<br />•Or are we speaking into lives and situations with the authority we’ve been given?
