A listener sent us in a quandary – asking how they should react if and when someone's upset. So what's the best course of action if a friend / colleague / partner is upset? Do you pretend you haven't noticed and give them space? Comfort them? Write out a list of reasons they shouldn't be upset? Tell them to cheer up and get on with things?

WE PROVIDE NO ANSWERS in this episode but, instead, discuss the myriad ways in which we have let our loved ones down by reacting terribly to their moments of upset.

If you have an actual decent answer to the question of how one should react when someone else is upset, please, PLEASE share in the comments. We're taking this all as a learning experience.

**

You can follow Rosemary on Instagram @rosemarymaccabe; Beatrice is @beatricemaccabe and you’ll find us both on the podcast Instagram @notwithoutmysister.
