#5 Drugs Don’t Cause Addiction

We can end Addiction as a problem in America in just 30 years by understanding that addiction isn’t caused by using harmful substances or compulsively engaging in certain behaviors such as gambling, shopping, having sex, or overeating.  These are simply symptoms of the primary brain disease known as Addiction. This primary brain disease can be present at birth and is usually caused by a genetic mutation that creates abnormally low levels of dopamine.
