WORLD AQUATICS CHAMPS JAPAN<br /> <br /> The 2023 World Aquatics Championships, the 20th edition of the FINA World<br /> Aquatics Championships, will be held in Fukuoka, Japan from July 14-30,<br /> 2023. It will be the second time Fukuoka hosts this meet, 22 years after the<br /> 2001 World Aquatics Championships.<br /> The event was pushed back a second time to 2023 due to ongoing travel<br /> restrictions and safety measures in place in Japan<br /> ZALIKA<br /> Was crowned Most Promising Athlete of the Year at recent the annual<br /> Gauteng Sports Awards.<br /> 2022 was a big year for the diving sensation, representing South Africa at the<br /> World Junior Diving Championships in Canada, and the FINA World<br /> Championships in Hungary.<br /> This followed her success at the 2022 SA Diving Championships where she<br /> placed first in the 1 metre and 3 metre springboard dives.<br /> The athlete who hopes to fly South Africa’s flag high at the 2024 Paris<br /> Olympic Games, started diving when she was 9-years-old and currently<br /> specialises in springboard diving and synchronised diving.<br /> And even though Methula is a junior she competed in the 1m women’s senior<br /> event while in Canada, finishing in the top 12. This competition saw 250<br /> divers from over 40 countries competing.
