<p>France Winddance Twine is a sociology professor and author of “A White Side of Black Britain”, which examines interracial parenting among white English and Irish mothers of children whose fathers are  of African-Caribbean heritage. Winddance talks about her mother Lois and her many lessons on embracing diversity, value of cultural capital, women’s friendships, enjoying life, discipline, self-reliance, and respecting our parents' secrets.
