Yahya, It's Not Funny

<p>Acomi and Turk182 discuss the comments actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II made about comic book movies, and news that he&#39;ll be playing the Marvel comics character Wonder-Man a.k.a. Simon Williams, in an upcoming Disney+ series. </p> <p>Yahya, known for playing Black Manta in the <em>Aquaman </em>movie and Dr. Manhattan in the <em>Watchmen </em>HBO series, was quoted in a magazine referring to acting in comic book, or superhero movie, as &quot;clown work&quot;. He stated that it didn&#39;t require him to actually act or put forth an effort in playing the roles. </p> <p>In true Turk fashion, like a current popular sing on a barstool, this didn&#39;t sit well. Finding his comments to be dismissive to the comic book industry and everyone who works on them, the actors who&#39;ve been in comic book movies, and the fans that support both entertainment fields, Turk raged. <em>And, Acomi watched in delight.</em> </p> <p>Acomi and Turk breakdown Yahya&#39;s acting career, great comic book movies, and great performances by the actors, and show just how wrong he is. In addition, show his lack of dedication to the art. We&#39;re sure his comments reflect really well during the current writers and actors strike. And, Turk vows to not watch the Wonder-Man series, if he stays attached.
