WORST STOCK DROP Since 2020 - Why Stocks Fell Today

What's up guys! Welcome back to the Stocks With Mike & Tom Show! The stock market is absolutely insane right now as CPI data came in hotter than expected!! This sent the stock market spiraling day, causing the worst drop on the Dow since June of 2020. That is a crazy statistic, but CPI is extremely important to the feds like we have been saying all week. Headline inflation rose 0.1% month over month, even with falling gas prices. The market is now pricing in a small chance of a 100 basis point rate hike. So many stocks were down in the red, like Apple, down over 5%. Amazon was down over 7%, causing QQQ to end up down 5% itself. We are talking about some of the biggest stocks in the market down well over 5% in a lot of cases. It isn't just energy that is causing a rise in inflation now. We are seeing grocery prices on the rise, used/new cars, medical costs, and more. Twitter was one stock that was green today as its shareholders voted to approve Elon Musk's bid to buy the company. This sent Twitter up in the middle of the day, and they almost broke out for a while. This doesn't mean the deal will happen, but it definitely helps that the shareholders voted for it.
