Description
<p>This week on <em>Under the Radar with Callie Crossley:</em></p> <p>50 years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a landmark decision: <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/03/us/what-is-roe-v-wade.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Roe v. Wade</a>. It made abortion a constitutionally protected right, and simultaneously gave millions of people greater freedom over decisions they could make about their body.</p> <p>But last year, <a href="https://www.npr.org/2022/06/24/1102305878/supreme-court-abortion-roe-v-wade-decision-overturn" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">that ruling was overturned</a>. While anti-abortion activists celebrated, critics of the decision argue women today have fewer rights than their grandmothers.</p> <p>Today, we get perspective from women who have had abortions before, during and after Roe, and explore what’s next for reproductive care in America.</p> <p><strong>GUESTS</strong></p> <p><strong><a href="https://reproequitynow.org/bio-rebecca-hart-holder" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Rebecca Hart Holder</a></strong>, president of Reproductive Equity Now</p> <p><strong><a href="https://reproequitynow.org/badolddaysposse" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Sally Benbasset</a></strong>, member of The Bad Old Days Posse, a group that shares their experiences of abortion before Roe v. Wade</p> <p><strong><a href="https://shoutyourabortion.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Sophie</a></strong>, a volunteer with Shout Your Abortion who had an abortion after Roe was overturned</p>
