Wom(b)_anifesto @The Funda Centre : May 1 2021

<p>The Wom{b}_anifesto hosted a two week series of workshops, dialogue and</p><p>spaces with a culminating exhibition event at the Funda Arts Centre in</p><p>Soweto in 2021 between April 19th and May 1st - besides facilitating</p><p>a series of offl ine and online spaces for artists to exchange ideas,</p><p>philosophies and work we were also able to experiment with the concept of</p><p>‘The Gallery Tree’ by extending our artists work into partner galleries</p><p>across Johannesburg [ TMRW & COUNTERPARTS ] -by facilitating dialogues</p><p>relating to artist dreams, development and presence as well as mediums and</p><p>formats within practice of the typical gallery model we were able to see</p><p>our value as a community of space development agents for artists.</p><p>The proposed ‘GIO’[WOMBANIFESTO’s prototype bitcoin format currency] was</p><p>extrapolated into a currency of textile which was adopted as mode of</p><p>exhibition by TMRW gallery and demonstrated worth of network as currency.</p><p>We go on to develop communities and networks in response to events</p><p>and crisis across South Africa using tools of dialogue, workshops and</p><p>exhibition.</p><p>The following is the unedited recording of the panel discussion/ round table/ mic in the middle moment where the topic of the practitioner - labourer of the arts - was discussed - Lead by Mostumi Makhene - the current director of activities happening at the Funda Centre.</p>
