Where is the line between going the extra mile and working for free?

<p>Simon Coles made the point that maybe it depends on whether you are working extra at your discretion or if the company expects you to clock out and continue working.</p> <p> </p> <p>Rhonda Bompensa-Zimmerman had a manager expressly telling her NOT to work off the clock.</p> <p> </p> <p>I didn't get to share during the conversation that I had the opposite experience. I had a boss in my early 20's who didn't want to me get overtime and also didn't want me to leave until the work was done.</p> <p> </p> <p>Stewart Wiggins said early in the conversation that there really is no black and white answer and I agree. It is complicated.</p> <p> </p> <p>If #quietquitting is doing only what is expected of you and what you are paid to do, but no more - why is that a problem?</p> <p> </p> <p>What do you think?
