Kim B. knows deep down that her soul longs to live and work in Paris, but she has spent years unable to make a clean break from her current place of residence in Los Angeles (she literally likens LA to the "abusive husband" that she somehow cannot escape). Kim comes to Jamie thinking it's a simple matter of "figuring out" the exact right time and place to finally make her move, but soon discovers that it's actually a much deeper issue of her relationship to her own heart.
