Dr. Mitchell continues in this lesson speaking of the attitude of the Jews to the cross. We are in 1 Cor.1:18-25. Here it is revealed that the Jews required a sign, a sign of power to validate a person & the message as being from God. From their study of the Hebrew scriptures, the Jewish people were looking for a glorified King with His kingdom not a savior crucified for their sin. But in fact, these same O.T. scriptures speak of both as being true of their Messiah. Dr. Mitchell speaks of the Messiah as revealed in Ps.22, Ps.69 and Isaiah 53 which deals with His crucifixion. Jesus is the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Dr. Mitchell examines what the Bible says about the attitude of the Jews to the person and work of Jesus, their Messiah.
