Our study in this lesson now examines the doctrine of justification. Dr. Mitchell reviews redemption and the 3 things from which we have been redeemed. Then he looks at the truth of justification. It is not enough to have our sins gone, which is a subtraction, but we must have an addition, God own righteousness. What does God add? He adds Christ’s righteousness to us. He adds His own holy righteousness so that we can stand with Him on His own foundation. 2 Cor.5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf (that is we who knew no righteousness) that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Let’s turn to Romans 5:1 with Dr. Mitchell as He examines the doctrine of justification which is guaranteed by Jesus’ resurrection.
