God in the Everyday–Fr Mike Delaney–God of Big Dreams (Recently a favourite passage of Scripture was part of our Sunday Scripture readings – Isaiah 55: 10-11. As the passage ends the Lord says – ‘the word that goes from my mouth does not return to me empty, without carrying out my will and succeeding in what it was sent to do’. As I reflected on the passage in preparation for my homily that weekend, I recalled a Worship Song I’d heard recently which had stuck in my mind – I’ve asked Jude whether he might be able to play it after this God Spot – God of Big Dreams by Jenn Bostic. Some time back I spoke about the challenge to pray for a greater response by the Church to becoming Missionary Disciples. Today I’d like to suggest another Big Hairy Audacious Goal and it comes from the Priestly Prayer of Jesus from John 17: 21 – ‘May they all be one. Father, may they be one in us, as you are in me and I am in you, so that the world will believe it was you who sent me.’ This is especially important because this Podcast is played across over 30 Christian Radio Stations throughout Australia whose aim is to spread the Gospel message far and wide.
