Wisdom from the Abbey–Mother Hilda–Energy of Love (Mother Hilda has the story of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, a Jesuit priest, philosopher, scientist and palaeontologist. In the book "Toward the Future”, he wrote, “the day will come, when after harnessing space, the winds, the tides, gravitation, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.” Despite the ill winds that blow across our troubled world today, the energies of love are indeed being harnessed. On the cross, Jesus harnessed for God the energies of love, and it brought about our salvation. Furthermore, today we can join many others and harness the energies of love for God right now, right where we are. Look around you, good people are doing so much. Check out the news, while yes, many horrible things are happening, certainly, but equally more good things are happening too.
