<p>Pastor Matt continues our sermon series in the Gospel of Mark, looking at Mark 6:14-29.</p><p><em>For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. - 1 Corinthians 1:18 </em></p><p><em>Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, <br/>- 2 Timothy 3:12 </em></p><p><em>“Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit’ - yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.’” - James 4:13-15 <br/></em><br/></p><p><b>How do I walk in obedience to God in the midst of everyday life in a broken world? </b></p><ol><li>I have a deep trust in Christ (Philippians 1:19). </li><li>My greatest fear in life is that I don’t want to shame Christ (Philippians 1:20) </li><li>I can trust in Christ because in Him I have a very certain future (Philippians 1:22-26). </li></ol><p><b>How do I pray in light of our time together today?</b></p><ul><li>I pray that while God has me in this world, I am not of this world (John 17:15-16).</li><li>I pray that I don’t go to work, but that I go to work with God.</li><li>I pray that I move with integrity and honor God in my work ethic.</li><li>I pray for wisdom in how to use the resources that God has given me for His glory.</li><li>I pray open handed with my life, and the lives of my loved ones.</li></ul><p>Life Church exists to glorify God by making disciples who <b>treasure Christ, grow together</b>, and <b>live on mission</b>.
