Websters Dictionary Before 1900 and The Definition of Copper and Black People: A Penny For Your Thought

<p>Have you ever wondered why the penny was deemed the element of less value? The definition of Native American was: Negro, Nigger, Copper Colored, Bronze, people of the land according to Websters Dictionary before it was a revised over and over. I didn't realize this as a youth, but something never sat right with it because it was the same color as my skin. I knew that I had to have a bunch of pennies in order to gain the same status as the silver coins which only required a few coins because the value was so much more. I was also very confused about the presidents on the coins and that if Abraham Lincoln so called freed black people, then was this the reason his face was on the coin with the least value? I was as young as 7 or 8 at the time when making this observation. Imagine how many other children see this disparity?</p> <p>&nbsp;I want to bring to light the value of copper and how it is a powerful conduit that is needed for human civilization. &nbsp;I personally where copper and have heard different people that they have found an old penny. Pennies are often found in the ground and buried along many old items.
