Wayne Rooney’s six-year-old son Kai signs for Manchester United’s youth team

<p>England ace has been taking him alongside teammate Michael Carrick whose son Jacey is also playing for United’s youngsters</p>, <p>MANCHESTER United have signed a top youngster on to their books – Wayne Rooney’s son Kai.</p>, <p>The six-year-old has been attending training sessions for the Red Devils’ youth team for a number of weeks.</p>, <p>Dad Wayne, 30, has been taking him alongside teammate Michael Carrick whose son Jacey is also playing for United’s youngsters.</p>, <p>The sessions takes place at the club’s old Cliff training ground in Salford, Gtr Manchester, and sees around 25 youngsters playing for the development squad.</p>, <p>Kai’s mum Coleen, 30, has also helped taking him to practice when Wayne is away playing football in the week.</p>, <p>And last week while dad was away on international duty teammate Carrick, 35, chipped in by taking his son and Kai to training.</p>, <p>A source said: “Wayne and Michael really get into it when they bring their their boys down.</p>, <p>“The kids seem to love it and have been coming down regularly in the week to train with the young development squad.</p>, <p>“It’s a bit funny because both their dads aren’t playing as much any more but these guys could be the club’s stars of the future.”</p>, <p>Kai has previously shown an interest in his dad’s game and has been spotted wearing a Jamie Vardy football shirt as well as a Cristiano Ronaldo transfer on his arm.</p>, <p>Last year he came on to the pitch after United’s last home game against Arsenal – a 1-1 draw – to kick a ball around the surface.</p>, <p>But for his birthday last November mum and dad – who now have three kids – had a mini golf course installed at their home for their eldest.</p>, <p>He was pictured striking balls around the course which would have cost around £7,000 to create.</p>, <p>Dad Wayne has even taken his son for golf lessons to brush up on his ball-striking.</p>, <p>Manchester United’s youth development side is made up of top local talent from the scouting of clubs and also by invitation.</p
