WAEC releases 2023 WASSCE results

<p>The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results for the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.</p>, <p>The Head of WAEC’s Nigeria Office (HNO), Patrick Areghan, made this announcement in Lagos on Monday.</p>, <p>Areghan said that among the 1,613,733 candidates who participated in the examination, the results of 262,803 candidates have been withheld due to reported instances of examination malpractice.</p>, <p>He added that there has been an improvement in the pass rate of candidates, as a total of 1,361,608 candidates, representing 84.38 per cent, obtained credit and above in a minimum of five subjects with or without English Language or Mathematics.</p>, <p>Areghan noted that 1,287,920 candidates, constituting 79.81 percent of the overall candidates, attained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, encompassing English Language and Mathematics.</p>, <p>He also announced that his retirement from the examination body is scheduled for a few weeks from now.</p>
