VOT: February 14, 2023-The best reserved for the last. “New Wine” Most times we make the mistake or error of assuming that the first place or position, is the best position. On the contrary, what man sees as best may actually be worst or just acceptable, not perfect to God, the Omnipotent and Omniscient Creator. In John 2, when Jesus was called upon to provide wine when it ran out, He turned water to wine and the “New wine” was sweeter than the old one that had been consumed. This was really a puzzle. The sweet wine was reserved for the end, because it came out of a need that was divinely met by Jesus turning water to wine when the wine ran out at the Wedding at Cana of Galilee. The patient or those who waited enjoyed sweeter wine. The best wine was served at the end. The end is always most glorious when God is allowed to have His way and do His good pleasure or will.
