VOP 2021: November 10, 2021 Draw nearer, grow stronger All we are and hope to become in life is by the ultimate power of God. He is our source and help that is always available to attend to our requests and grant our desires. When we get so familiar with this fact, there is often tendency for us to become slack in seeking Him for a more intimate relationship. We must reassess our spiritual position and location, and make the necessary adjustment to draw nearer unto God with a contrite Spirit. The issues of life sometimes overwhelm us and make us slothful and shift a bit out of the original position, sometimes referred to or down played as simply an error. It is wisdom to be truthful to ourselves knowing that God cannot be mocked by making the wise choice of genuine repentance. When we draw nearer unto God, His unfailing love will cause Him to reveal Himself to us. Our inner strength will be increased and hope restored. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Psalm‬ ‭51:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬. “But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, That I may declare all thy works.” Psalm‬ ‭73:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬. “Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭8:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
