Voice of the Region: Pub special – In with the inn crowd

<p>Pubs have witnessed a remarkable comeback post-lockdown with the public viewing the sector with a renewed sense of importance, although challenges undoubtedly lie ahead, according to Fleurets director and head of national agency James Davies.</p> <p>Fleurets currently leads the Radius On Demand Rankings for the UK’s hotel and leisure sector, with almost 300,000 sq ft of space transacted this year. Davies believes pubs have enjoyed a honeymoon period in the post-lockdown period, with many new units opening up in what were traditional retail spaces.</p> <p>However, he also believes the sector needs help with VAT rates and with the ability to hire overseas workers if it is to overcome the recessionary storm clouds currently gathering.</p>
