<p>The direct to OTT movie model has been one of those high amplitude disruptions of the world of movies. Once considered a distant dream, it is the here and now of the movie industry. The proof of this: Netflix now has 8 Academy award wins from 44 nominations, and more are on their way. While the Indian movie industry hasn’t seen this level of disruption from the non-theatrical movies yet, the coronavirus has expedited this process a little bit - as Amazon Prime moves quickly to fill in for the theaters.
