<p>The Ninth Trust</p> <p>"I will abhor scandals and gossip - neither partake nor delight in them."</p> <p>Delighting in scandal-mongering and gossip is simply unworthy of the Knight Errant’s noble quest. It brings out the worst in people while disregarding justice and fairness. Scandal and gossip are the playthings of small minds taking pleasure from someone else’s ruin. Look at what scandal-mongering and gossip have done to the news media and today’s politics. They cheapen almost everything they look at while pulling their audiences down to their level.</p> <p><br></p> <p>The Tenth Trust</p> <p>"I will be generous to the poor and to those who need help."</p> <p>Being generous is not only a matter of money and materials. Being generous with your words is just as important. You can give by teaching someone a skill. You can give your time by mentoring a young person. You can give your time to a charity or your community. Generosity is just as much about how you treat others as it is what you are offering. Often I will hear others on this path say something to the effect of “you must only give, never take.” I would have to disagree with these types of statements simply because being a gracious receiver is equally important when considering this virtue.
