Tyres kill vulcaniser, injure others in Osogbo

<p>The Nigeria Police have reacted to the murder of an officer, identified as Sergeant Ifeanyi, by gunmen in Delta state.</p>, <p>Okoye said the arrests followed the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Barde’s directive to commence a detailed investigation and manhunt to unravel the perpetrators of the Ngor Okpala dastardly act.</p>, <p>The late vulcaniser’s corpse is said to have been removed by his family members.</p>, <p>Confirming the incident on Saturday, Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, Mr Bright Edafe, said: “The killed police officer was returning home after closing of work.</p>, <p>Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Akwa Ibom State, have arrested 19 students of the Akwa Ibom State University, Mkpat-Enin, for suspected internet-related offences.</p>, <p>NAN learnt that the witness and other commercial motorcyclists later chased after the trailer driver, who veered into Ataoja Police Station in Osogbo after sensing danger.</p>, <p>The suspects, Chinwe Precious Nwabara ‘m’, Bright Godswill ‘m’, and Chinedu Divine Nweke ‘m’ who came from Portharcourt in connivance with an Airtel staff, Tochi, now at large disguised as engineers working on the mast so as to carry out the crime.</p>, <p>It is, however, uncertain if any ransom was paid to secure her freedom.</p>, <p>The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the arrest came barely two weeks after gunmen attacked and killed four policemen in a restaurant at the Ngor Okpala area of the state.</p>, <p>Two months ago, gunmen killed three Police officers attached to the security team of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta.</p>, <p>The Imo State Police Command has arrested nine suspected criminals terrorising parts of the state.</p>, <p>He said the tyres later bounced off, after hitting the vulcaniser, to knock down a woman that was selling food close to the vulcaniser and her daughter.</p>, <p>He explained that the family out of desperation gathered some money and paid the suspects but police operatives w
