Turning Colder 1st Half of This Week But Remains Dry; Warmer Thu/Fri; New Year’s Snow & Much Colder

<p>Today we will see southerly flow as and upper-level ridge and high-pressure move off to the east and a trough and low start approaching from the west.  This will lead to breezy south winds and near normal temperature readings in the mid-40’s and 20’s. The rest of the week the weather pattern becomes active with a series of fast-moving throughs and surface lows advancing over the Rockies and through the Plains. The first Tuesday around daybreak and a second Wednesday afternoon will bring colder temps, highs in the 30’s and lows in teens and single digits, breezy north winds and wind chills below zero, but no moisture is expected.   Thursday and Friday flow returns southwest warming temps back into the 40’s and 50’s ahead of a third larger trough and surface low Friday night and New Year’s Day with much colder temps and blowing snow chances.    </p>
