Transfer: Why we signed Ugochuwku – Chelsea

<p>Chelsea on Tuesday explained their decision to sign midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu.</p>, <p>Ugochukwu joined Chelsea from French club Rennes on a seven-year contract.</p>, <p>The 19-year-old’s deal has an option for a further year at Stamford Bridge.</p>, <p>Reacting, Chelsea’s co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said the Blues signed Ugochukwu because he is an impressive young player who has already made an impact in the French Ligue.</p>, <p>They said, as quoted by the club’s official website: “We’re delighted Lesley is joining Chelsea.</p>, <p>“He is an impressive young player who has already made his mark in Ligue 1.</p>, <p>“He has a huge amount of potential and we know he is going to continue to develop and improve.</p>, <p>“We are pleased that he has joined us in the U.S and that he will be able to integrate with the squad quickly.”</p>
