Townlands In Focus - Rossmanagher

On Tuesday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Colm Liddy who is a historian and author. Colm discussed the townland of Rossmanagher which is located in Sixmilebridge. He spoke about the townland which boasts flat and fertile farmland as a result of being located beside the River Shannon. He described the history of Rossmanagher and Sixmilebridge and it's previous ownership by the D'esterre family in the 1600's. Colm highlighted the fact that Sixmilebridge primarily consisted of Dutch people and was transformed into an industrial town.
