Tony Hsieh - Shining Light, Zappos

<p><a href="https://geni.us/TonyHsieh">Tony Hsieh</a>, the “visionary” developer of online shoe retailer <a href="https://www.zappos.com/">Zappos</a> has died at the age of 46. Hsieh was an internet pioneer and venture capitalist, he and Harvard classmate <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_Lin">Alfred Lin</a> transformed a small business selling shoes online into a $1.2bn company by the time of its acquisition by Amazon in 2009. The famously generous tech exec was a lifelong believer in cultivating communities where he instilled the importance of shared values and how to make crazy ideas a reality. His motto was to align your company around your people and above all - always be yourself. </p>
