Three officers charged in a teen’s fatal shooting will appear in court Tuesday afternoon as a judge hears motions to throw out the case and disqualify a deputy prosecutor. Hearings for the officers will start at 1:30 p.m. at District Court. The three officers are charged in the April shooting of 16-year-old Iremamber Sykap. Officer Geoffrey Thom is charged with second-degree murder, while officers Zackary Ah Nee and Christopher Fredeluces face second-degree attempted murder charges. A grand jury declined to indict the officers, but the city Prosecutor’s Office moved forward with charges against the three.
