The Weeknd | Rockin’ (Change Request ReVision) The fourth single off of his third studio album, "Rockin'" was written by a "Cardigan Combination" of Max Martin, Peter Svensson, Savan Kotecha, Ali Payami, Belly, and Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. Released in 2016, the “Starboy” album was produced by Payami and Martin, with the Weeknd serving as a co-producer. For this ReVision, I wanted to explore the feel of the original early-90s KMS/Inner City/Detroit-styled mid-tempo groove. Layering this high-tech soul fabric against a vocal puzzle, this extended arrangement struts a mid-tempo shuffle over dreamy 8-bit melodics.
