The Secularization of Christmas

<p>When P&C were lads, there was a lot more public display of religion. Over the ensuing years, public displays of religion have been under attack.</p> <p>It sometimes gets to the point that you're committing a hate crime if you wish someone a Merry Christmas? I suppose that's "mis-religioning."</p> <p>The modern so-called "war on Christmas" is nothing compared to the traditional opposition to the holiday in America, starting with the Puritans.</p> <p>* Was Jesus born on Dec. 25th?<br /> * Where did Santa come from?<br /> * Are nativity scenes accurate?<br /> * Are Christmas trees pagan?<br /> * When does Christmas really start?<br /> * How did gift-giving get involved?</p> <p> </p>
