We talk about the importance of <strong>cross-cultural communications</strong> and how it is so needed to bridge gaps. &nbsp;<br> <br> <strong>WHO IS HANNAH? </strong><br> She is South African, of Indian heritage, and was born and raised in the city of Durban, South Africa. At the age of 18, I married into a Pakistani family in South Africa. I lived with and amongst them for seven years. This was my first ever experience with living within a new culture, it was the first time The marriage lasted seven years but taught me a lifetime of value when it came to understanding difference. At the age of 26, I moved to Istanbul, Turkey, where I lived for 2 years. In Istanbul, I interacted and lived with many cultures from all over the world. My experience with cross-cultural communication grew even more and I started noticing microaggressions and biases in practice. At the age of 29, I got married to a very British, a white man, and moved to Manchester UK, where I currently live. Moving to the UK and marrying into a white family opened my eyes even more to how we need to address the elephant in the room! I used to feel like I was wearing a neon shine around my neck and everyone in the room was pointing at me because I was ‘different, I became the subject of microaggression and unconscious bias. &nbsp;<br> <br> Well-meaningly, people want to learn about me and my ‘culture’, but they would go about it completely wrong, making me feel the need to defend who I truly am to them. This experience thought me that there is a huge gap between the knowledge we are thought about stereotypes, microaggressions, unconscious biases, and how to use this information practically to create meaningful connections and bridge misunderstandings. &nbsp;With all my first-hand experiences and education, I have created a new, unique program designed with the mission of Harvesting understanding with cross-cultural communication between family
