The Radium Girls

When people go to work, they expect to be safe. Sadly, that is not always the truth. Workplaces accidents happen, but sometimes employers ignore things that create risk. A great example of this was my uncle. He worked for a company driving and working with heavy equipment at a work site for many years. But what he didn’t know was that the buildings on his worksite were contaminated with exposed asbestos. He and many of his co-workers developed cancer, and passed away. His employer eventually recognized their fault, and settled with the victims families. <br /><br />Now imagine for a moment that you were a female who worked in the early 20th century.
