The Pulse of the City: Aggressive Drivers, Flags on Trucks, and A Closer Look at Traveling During Jim Crow

<p>I have a noticed &nbsp;a trend of trucks with various flags attached to them while they are drag racing down the road. &nbsp;Have you noticed this trend in your city? My question is, "Are you trying to scare others with your flags or are you determined to live in a peaceful society?" I have had several close friends share there fear in driving on the road due to aggressive drivers. I am a SME when it come to driving and have used the characteristics of drivers to help understand people's mental capacity and their stress levels. &nbsp;Recently, I have been confronted by aggressive drivers from southern states that have little to no respect for others while on the road. I shared a true fact about driving while black. If you are a person of color, you have to take extra precaution when driving especially if you are driving at night.&nbsp;</p> <p>After slavery and during the days of Jim Crow, many black men, women, and children feared for their life while traveling by foot by themselves. i share a true story about a black man who was traveling by foot and his encounter with an angry mob. This is very significant because, this story is among the thousands of stories from people of color that have traveled by foot or by car past and present. &nbsp;Why are people are afraid to travel on the road simply because they fear they will be gunned down or the police called upon them. These stories are retold over and over. I have had my own experiences in terms of nearly being ran off the road. When people get behind the wheel, many of the pinned up anger and faulty decisions that are made, are made while operating a vehicle. The death rate for accidents continues to rise.
