The One with J - Discipline and authenticity

<p>My life used to be led by discipline.</p> <p>I was successful therefor I was disciplined. </p> <p>Most days needed so much discipline, but I kept telling myself this is what success feels like. This is what success looks like. </p> <p>You don’t achieve greatness without discipline.</p> <p>Wrong.</p> <p>In the past couple of years, I’ve realized my disciplined life was limiting me. </p> <p>I was avoiding life experiences because, well, “I’m so disciplined” I would say.</p> <p>Now looking back, I was afraid.</p> <p>Afraid of what an authentic life would look like for me.</p> <p>Would I “let myself go” if I didn’t live off of discipline? </p> <p>What would actually happen? </p> <p>I slowly started to let go of the discipline and shifted my focus on AUTHENTICITY. </p> <p>What would happen if my daily behaviours and choices were led by ME. </p> <p>What I ACTUALLY want to do. </p> <p>It’s ironic that I was so afraid to “lose myself” if I didn’t have discipline yet I actually FOUND myself by letting go of it. </p> <p>Letting go of any rules.</p> <p>Letting go of the “shoulds” I had set for myself through society’s eyes.</p> <p>I encourage you to look at your life.</p> <p>Do you need a lot of discipline to live it?</p> <p>Do you often have to say no to life experiences because of “all the discipline you have”.</p> <p>I just want to create awareness and tell you that authenticity is in right now.</p> <p>I thought my best life was behind discipline - all along it was behind authenticity.</p> <p>Love your friend,</p> <p>J xo</p> <p>https://linktr.ee/YWWL</p>
