The new Marian Column of Prague was erected in the summer of 2020. Here is its seldom told history.

At the time it did not appear in any tour guides, nor promotional materials. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style= "mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Intrigued, I researched the story of the Marian Column of Prague.</span><span style= "mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style= "mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">It’s history, long hidden behind the Iron Curtain, in a country that up to this day is considered one of the least religious in the world was brought back to the square in 2020.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style= "mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">The original Marian Column erected in 1850 was destroyed by radicals following WWI.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style= "mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">This new column has been brought back to the square by citizen who wish to thank the Virgin Mary for her love for the people of the Czech Republic.</span></p> <p>There are links, photos and more about this on my website.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Pray for this new war in the Middle East to end quickly.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Also, Pray for the People of Ukraine.
