The Lord forces us to make a choice: REPENT or PERISH!!

SALVATION COMES THROUGH REPENTANCE! You cannot believe in Jesus and continue to live in opposition to Him. Unless you repent, unless you turn away from your sinful ways, you and I will perish! 🎯 The Lord forces us to make a choice. REPENT or PERISH. As we look at today's text (Luke 13:1-5), we see the Lord Jesus Christ responding to them who told, "Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices" (v. 1). They were most likely thinking that these Galileans somehow brought this calamity upon themselves by some unrighteous act of theirs. Jesus knowing their thoughts, asked this question, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things" (v. 2)? By answering His own question, He redirected their focus to their own lives and said, "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (v.3). And to make this point even more poignant, He brought up how 18 people in their very own town, Jerusalem, died when a tower in Siloam fell upon them. He asked them, "do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? Again, He directed them to their own lives in verse 5 by saying, "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” 🚩 Jesus has given His audience, and He has given us, only two options. REPENT or PERISH. In the Hebrew, the word for repentance means “to turn.” Repentance is to turn away from our lives apart from the Lord and to turn back to Him. And going forward, SIN NOT!!! Repentance is a change of mind and change of heart of such a scale, that is causes a man/woman to HATE what he/she once loved - SIN & WICKEDNESS and to LOVE what they once hated
