The insidious threat of Long Covid

Feb. 14, 2022 - As if the immediate health complications caused by COVID-19 were not enough, as it has contributed to the deaths of more than 60,000 New Yorkers, the insidious virus is also causing lingering symptoms that emerge weeks or months later, known as "Long Covid." State Health Department Epidemiology Division Director Dr. Emily Lutterloh and state Health Department Community Health Deputy Director Johanne Morne discuss what we know about Long Covid, explain how it's being treated now and highlight a recent consortium designed to increase scientific understanding of this condition.
