<p>My friend says we have to love others in order to stay saved. He uses 1 John 3:23 as his proof text. What are your thoughts? What does it mean to have a “root of bitterness”? Do some Christians have idols in their hearts? What can we say to people of other religions? For example, how can I convince a Mormon to believe differently?</p>
