The “Door” Into a Daring New World - Sermon - September 11, 2022

<p>One of my many happy childhood memories is my mom and dad taking my brother and me to Century 21 to see "Raiders of the Lost Ark." Having entered the theater sulking (foolishly wishing that we were seeing "Clash of the Titans" instead), I exited soaring. "This movie is the greatest ever," I blurted in breathless excitement to my parents. Although I'd seen only a few other movies by the point, and one of them was that arthouse film "King Kong," my high opinion of Spielberg's epic has held up. If you've seen "Raiders," you know that one of its most famous lines is, "Snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes?" Indy's memorable line came to me this week as I was preparing my "Journey to Jerusalem" sermon. If you join us for the worship service, you'll understand why.
